Phd, Pachadi, Kichadi

Enjoy maadi

Phd

Verjaardagskalender (Birthday Calendar)

Do you like to wish your near and dear one’s, colleagues, neighbors etc etc etc on their Birthday’s, but still somehow forget to wish and end up in a pitiful condition? Then what’s the best way to keep track of these Birthday’s, anniversaries, appointments, important dates etc? In today’s geek world, there are ample choices starting from adding to reminders in mail accounts or mobile phones to writing them down in agenda’s or keeping the secretary. Dutch have a unique solution to this issue…though it might have lost its significance in the present day hi-tech world, still their way holds good and also it doesn’t only remind only you, but also all your family members…

The solution is to hang a “Verjaardagskalender” (**)inside the most important, most solitude place and never to miss - room in your home - that is toilet !!! So, nobody will miss the birthdays and no hassle of asking tons of sorry’s later. Its ingenious discovery of Dutchmen…. (Anyway their toilets are so small that, one won’t be sitting more than half a meter away from the door and certainly you won’t miss seeing the dates). “Verjaardagskalender” (Birthday calendar) can be seen in almost all Dutchmen’s home and also they would love to see it on non-Dutch people’s home also….(That is one way to show how much you are integrated into Dutch culture). All these year’s my w.c. conspicuously lacked the “symbol of integration” and this year I decided to follow the Dutch tradition…..Now there it hangs, inside of my home’s w.c reminding me of all the important dates and events. So, I hope this year I will be more prompt in wishing and not missing the appointments…
